FAMILY FIRST

My family is my life.  My husband and I met as teenagers at church camp and then started dating in our early 20's.  Twelve years later, we have an amazing life together with two beautiful daughters and the best chocolate lab you've ever met.  I'm one of those people who counts our dog as a child.  I still like to wake up on Christmas morning with my parents, sisters, and all of our families even though we are all grown up! My parents were absolutely right when they told me that my sisters would be my best friends one day.  If you spend enough time with my family, you are bound to become part of the family! 

HAPPINESS OVERLOAD

I'm a give everything you've got kind of girl.  I'm an extreme optimist and competitive down to my core.  I believe in people and I am an encourager.  I want the best for everyone and I always want people to be happy and see the best in themselves and in others.  I just can't quite grasp the concept of negativity.  I often rely on sarcasm and humor in life :) 

WORLDWIDE LOVES

Traveling makes my heart happy!  I love road trips, reading books in airports, eating new foods, exploring beautiful scenery, laying on beaches, and outdoors sports of all kinds.  Dessert is pretty much my favorite thing EVER.  I may have a slight chocolate addiction... I love hot tea, 600 calorie coffees from Starbucks, and WINE! 

PHOTOGRAPHY STORY

Life is an adventure and there are so many things I love so why not try to do and see it all???  I have a biology degree, served in the Army for almost 12 years, and I'm now fulfilling my heart's desire as a wife, mother, and photographer.  I've been in love with photographs ever since I was a little girl.  To this day, one of my favorite things to do when I visit my grandma is to sit around with my family and look at her old scrapbooks.  I've seen the same pictures 100's of times, but it never gets old.  There's something special about being able to see a moment in time memorialized on a page for generations to see.  Something as simple as a PHOTOGRAPH can bring an entire family together and I love that!

As a mom and the family photographer, I know how hard it is to be IN photos.  Pictures are so special and I want you to have something to cherish for years to come and pass those special moments down as heirlooms.  It makes my heart so happy to capture the moments in between 1...2...3...CHEESE:  a mom tickling her child, a dad swinging his son in the air, booboo kisses, a toddler running through a field because he's just been released from smiling duty with his sister, a couple laughing together after I've just made them hold an impromptu kiss for 15 seconds.  Not every moment has to be posed and perfect and those are my favorite ones :)

I love things that are vibrant and colorful and a recent trip to Burano, Italy made me fall in love with this tiny island!  These colors are REAL!
